Proud owner of Lou Scalia’s Awards, Rob Comito admits to at least two passions in life: One-his “Trophy Life” as the leader of Lou Scalia’s Awards and Two-Bowling. Comito is a 3-time Pro Bowlers Association (PBA) winner and the owner of numerous 300 perfect games.

As Lou Scalia’s Awards now proudly celebrates 50 years of service to South Florida, Comito says he can pin down some parallels between the two experiences.

“At Lou Scalia’s we have such a dedicated and talented staff that is so committed to meeting the needs of our great customers. They are so very loyal to us because they see that we are working to fill their order(s) perfectly each time,” Comito said. “And likewise, with bowling, each time you pick up the ball to roll it down the lane, it takes great concentration and effort to help ensure the best possible outcome.”

Comito says in either scenario, a system or plan has to be in place to promote the best possible chance for success. He says his team has been through the process so many times, creating a trophy or plaque or medal at the last minute, that the repeated experience leads to the best possible outcome. The same for bowling.

“You have to know best practices for when a customer wants an order the very next day so that the order can be filled accurately and quickly. That’s what makes me appreciate my staff so much — we go out of our way to know just the right approach, with time to spare.”

For Lou Scalia’s, on 2333 South University Drive in Davie, practice makes perfect.
